Prison Outreach
God's Word has the power to transform lives and rehabilitate anyone who receives it. This can be true even for the hardest of criminals. The primary goal of our jail/prison ministry at Imago Dei is to be Christian Ambassadors to those who are incarcerated or to those who are imprisoned anywhere. We are therefore Christ's Ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. II Corinthians 5:20 (NIV) “We implore you on Christ's behalf: Be reconciled to God." If you would like to be involved in this ministry, please reach out and take His hand. Volunteers in this ministry must complete a volunteer application and IDCF New Member's class.
Nursing Home Outreach
On a monthly basis we visit the nursing home. We go to bring hope and encouragement to our elders who sometimes have no family and are lonely. When we visit, we sing, we share the Word of God, we reminisce with them, we hold their hands, we hug them, and share the love of God. Jesus said, "What you do unto the least you do unto me."
Crossing The Streets - Outreach
From May through October we visit 4th Street park in Hamilton, OH. We take a truck full of “kid fun” and minister in the park. There are grill outs in the park, free ice cream, and a time to play with the kids and share God’s word. As we've developed relationships with the families over time, we have specific programs in place to help them all year long with special outreach events such as the Back to School book-bag drive, and our annual Thanksgiving Dinner Basket blessing, just to name a few.
